Sandy Brown – with The Brian Lemon Trio „In The Evening“ (1971) - der zu früh verstorbene schottische Klarinettist in intimer Atmosphäre. Über sein individuelles Spiel schrieb er: „I was self-taught from the age of twelve […] it occurred to me that I didn’t conform with what were usually considered to be normal clarinet techniques: it seemed a bit to late to do much about it except to continue along the same course.” (Sandy Brown, 1971)

Pat Metheny/ Charlie Haden – Beyond The Missouri Sky (1997) – the american spirit – lyrisch, harmonisch und voller Poesie.

Miles Davis – Kind Of Blue – das Beste überhaupt

Gerry Mulligan – Song For Strayhorn – keiner spielte das Baritonsaxophon wie er. Die Hommage an Billy Strayhorn ist eine unter die Haut gehende Komposition von ihm, die am schönsten Live in der Liederhalle Stuttgart 1977 klingt und nochmals in großer Orchesterbesetzung im September 1980 für das DRG Records Label aufgenommen wurde.
